Bloodhunt # 1 opens the vampire invasion with the death of three Avengers
Spoilers for Bloodhunt # 1 by Jed MacKay and Pepe Larraz and basically its a story that shows the vampires rising up and trying to take over the Marvel Earth with the Avengers caught in the middle of it all.
Major Spoilers for the book so a SPOILER ALERT is in order
So there’s a lot that happens in this event book but the main point is that various heroes and villains with ties to the Dark Dimension have been used as portals to black out the sun and usher in an invasion of vampires from the Vampire nation that was established during Jason Aaron’s run on the Avengers.
As people are killed and eaten or turned to vampires, the Avengers try to stop the bloodshed but are ultimately called back to their new base of operation in the Impossible City by former member Blade the Vampire hunter. Blade asks the team to teleport him and his truck to their base and they do so without question. The team however gets taken down by the powered up vampire crew inside the truck calling themselves the Bloodcoven.

Each member easily take down the Avengers targeting specific weaknesses. One of them, Damascene is able to cut Thor and in the closing moments of the fight, Thor gets killed by Damascene’s projectiles.

Bloodstorm One also shows interest in capturing or turning Captain America (Sam Wilson) into a member of the vampire horde to serve as a symbol for the downfall of humanity. T’Challa aka Black Panther saves Sam’s life and sacrifices his own to ensure that Sam and the surviving members of the Avengers escape the city and regroup elsewhere.

Back on Earth, Blade pays a visit to Doctor Strange and Clea while the two are trying to find away to get the sun back and stop the vampires from taking over. Blade then reveals himself to be the new leader of the vampire nation and stabs Doctor Strange from behind assumedly killing him and removing the use of magic and the mystic arts from the board.
My guess is that the fallen members will be turned into vampires and will be joining Blade’s army. I also think that Blade’s not really turned heel but is playing a role in all this. Or maybe they’ll be giving him a pass on this and retcon the betrayal.
