Infinix NOTE 50 Pro Review
Here’s my Infinix NOTE 50 Pro review which is now out in stores and available on Shopee featuring ArmorAlloy finish, 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED display and more!
Design
It’s a bit early to say this but I really enjoyed the look and feel of the Infinite NOTE 50 Pro 4G. It has a titanium or steel finish that not only looks cool but also follows the motif of one of gaming’s badass shooters, Ghost from the Call of Duty franchise. The frame was created using a combination of Damascus steel and aluminum which they’ve since dubbed as ArmorAlloy which delivers a strong build while at the same time looking sleek as heck. Not to mention the phone’s got a comfortable grip to it. Still on the subject of the strength and durability of the Infinix NOTE 50, it’s also nice to note that the phone has lightweight strength and impact resistance thanks to the HyperCasting technology which is also a process that resembles the process used to make automobiles abroad.
The NOTE 50 Pro 4G can hold two SIM cards but doesn’t have room for expandable memory cards. The series incorporates advanced engineering with HyperCasting technology, a one-piece die-casting process inspired by high-performance automotive design, ensuring lightweight strength and impact resistance. It also features ShockAbsorb™, a buffer system that offers TÜV SÜD-certified drop resistance. Additionally, Infinix NOTE 50 Pro’s 4.5G Open-Air Network Structure improves signal reception, enhancing WiFi speed and GPS accuracy.
Display
Gamers and casual smartphone users will also enjoy the AMOLED display that comes along with the NOTE 50 Pro 4G as it’s large enough to see things with more details and the refresh rate is also astounding to say the least.
It’s also a cut above the rest in terms of refresh rate as it features a 144Hz refresh rate, something only flagship phones offer. The brightness also comes up on top with 1300 nits, it’s fun to play games even in dark environs or even when you’re outdoors.
Something new that I haven’t seen in other phones is the 230Hz high frequency PWM dimming that reduces flickering that takes care of your eyes. Infinix also takes care of your eyes as it also has the German Rhein low blue light certification.
Camera
As I mentioned in my Infinite NOTE 50 Pro first impressions post, the phone’s camera is pretty promising with it’s AI functions running front and center. They actually made sure users are using an AI-powered camera since they dropped the term “photo” and calls it AI Cam. The 50MP Samsung GN5 main camera with 2μm, four-in-one ultra-sensitive pixels really kicks everybody’s butt out in the water for the same tier or price range because it can not only take vivid and near realistic photos in low light settings but also for well-lit areas.
AI also comes to the rescue when taking HDR processing as it cleverly helps in reducing noise in an image as well as enhance details that a normal camera phone would probably skip. There are also four built-in filters for you to use namely Bright, Retro, Black & White, and Time. If you’re a fan of experimenting with your shots with black and white or locking down that “antique” look then you MUST try these filters.
It also takes great close-up shots…
For the front camera it uses the pinhole design and has 32 MP, f/2.2, (wide) lens. It’s standard for the smartphones on the same tier list but the colors really highlight all the important details on your photos.
Performance, UX and UI
In terms of performance, the phone is very dependable. It runs smoothly from a hardware standpoint because of the Android 15 OS running concurrently with the XOS 15 OS.
Notifications can be checked when sliding down on the left side of the screen while settings can be found when you slide down from the right side.
I know it can be confusing so there’s an option to swap back to the original settings.
Another great new feature for the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro is the One-tap AI Screen Inquiry. This allows you get information using FOLAX, Infinix’s own AI system that answers your questions with just a tap of a button. You can easily read off data on screen instantly with one tap which is something, for me, is revolutionary.
AI doesn’t end there as the NOTE 50 also comes with the AI Screen Recognition system and AI Image Search. For me as a content creator, the AI Image Search is the one that truly takes the cake as it helps easily give me the images I need based on simple machine learning on the phone so it acts as a second brain when it comes to coming up with images to look for. In one case, it actually managed to get the exact image I was looking for based on previous contexts I may have used during my Google searches.
One Tap AI Communications also looks very promising and I can see the future uses of this with other Android products in the near future. This feature gives you detailed reports on your phone use such as real time translation, auto-answering and dual noise cancellation.
Battery
Battery life is something that gamers also consider and for the Infinix NOTE 50 Pro 4G, it’s literally and figuratively a cut above the rest with a 5200mAh battery, standing proudly above the competition. During the time that I was doing this Infinix NOTE 50 Pro Review, I also noticed how smooth the charging experience and and how long before it actually gets significantly drained. That’s something important especially for esports enthusiasts and esports hopefuls who want to make it big in the gaming industry. Oh and the reason why it takes a long time before the battery gets drained? It’s all thanks to the Cheetah X2 chip that’s installed in the phone that maintains 80% capacity even after six years while something called the SolidCore Battery runs behind the background to keep things cool to from -20°C to 40°C
It’s also neat that you can get a full charge in less than an hour with its fast-charging system. It comes with the All-Round FastCharging 3.0 Technology that hits as much as 90W charging at any given time. This means that if you want to get your phone charged up ASAP, this is the phone you should get. There’s also three modes for charging namely the Smart, Turbo, and Low-Temperature. Lastly the NOTE 50 Pro also comes with reverse charging capabilities and you get opt to use 10W wired and 7.5W wireless reverse charging when there’s an emergency.
Gaming
And now for the most important part of this Infinix Note 50 review, the gaming aspect. Gaming on this phone was such a treat with it’s great display, intuitive controls and smooth graphics. It’s definitely built specifically for FPS mobile games and even for MOBA games like MLBB and Honor of Kings. Good call with picking the class-leading Helio G100 chip, because this chipset not only provides seamless use for casual users but also provides that much needed “oomph” for gamers. The chipset is less laggy and delivers top-notch quality output no matter the game.
The gaming experience I’ve had with the INFINIX NOTE 50 Pro hits all my needs in the head and some more. The connectivity is always good wih the Super WiFi 2.0 and the 144Hz refresh rate for optimal performance. And they weren’t lying when they decided to stick with CODM because the phone is EXCEPTIONAL in performing for shooter games. The low latency enhancements also makes doing critical things during the games a tad easier to pull off; think of having this soft pillow that eases you in when doing some tight movements for your characters whether its in FPS or in a MOBA game.
If you want total peace when playing games, the NOTE 50 also comes with the trusty XBOOST Game Assistant. From here you can choose various options that can change your gaming experience. You can change power saving options, performance settings and device optimization.
Diving deeper, you can also tweak the phone’s built-in touch engine to hit the sweet spot when it comes to getting precision controls, an aspect that is needed in order to win in games like CODM.
Finally the phone also has adaptive thermal management that constantly monitors the phone’s temperature especially when playing games. This is one aspect that I feel is sorely neglected with other brands’ game-centric products. They hit the high marks when it comes to graphics and refresh rates and displays but nobody bothered to really look at the cooling and temp aspects. I mean who would want to hold on to a phone that’s as hot as an in-game winning streak? But then Infinix came along and now our hands are saved from that burning awful heat. The massive VC heat dissipation system (12,326mm², up to 11 layers) cools the device by up to 10°C, preventing throttling during intense sessions.
Final Thoughts
This phone certainly sets up a bug future for Infinix and I’m positive we get the same quality for gaming and aesthetics with other NOTE 50 Variants like the NOTE 50 and the NOTe 50 Pro+. It’s the perfect smartphone for people who are big fans of the Call of Duty franchise and gamers of different backgrounds as well. It looks extremely good thanks to the metallic finish and once can appreciate the fine craftsmanship for this phone even at such an affordable price range. Infinix really meant every word they said when they decided to tag this smartphone as Fast to First because this ticks off the boxes on everything a good and solid phone should be without breaking your wallet.
