DC Comics is still hitting it with the surprise twists and turns for their Absolute books like what happened in Absolute Green Arrow where the actual Green Arrow character is different, and our boy Oliver Queen is officially dead.
So the question readers have been wondering is: who is under the hood? Well, thanks to some leaks we actually know who Green Arrow is.
Absolute Green Arrow is actually Malcolm Merlyn in this alternate universe.
So who is Malcolm Merlyn?
In the original DCU, Merlyn is a Green Arrow villain who is also a world-class archer and assassin. Mike Friedrich and artist Neal Adams created the character and he first appeared in Justice League of America # 94. In the books, the character was a circus performer going by Merlyn the Magician. It was one of these circus performances that Oliver Queen saw when he was a kid that inspired him to become an archer himself. Later in his life, Merlyn joined and got training by Ras Al Ghul and the Leauge of Assassins. Meanwhile, here in the Absolute Universe, we already meet Malcolm Merlyn in as early as Absolute Green Arrow # 1 where he works as the chief of security for Hector Hammond.
This is very interesting and also concerning especially since he lost an arm in the past issue.
Meanwhile check out the past covers for Absolute Green Arrow below:
