First look at Batgirl from the HBO Max Batgirl movie

Here’s our first look at the DCEU Batgirl which is currently in production and will be released soon on HBO Max as a full length film from Warner Bros Pictures and DC Comics!

Batgirl will star Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon/ Batgirl together with Michael Keaton said to be reprising his role as Bruce Wayne, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys for Life) in an unknown role and Brendan Frasier as Firefly.

According to various sources, this will definitely be the Barbara Gordon version of the character and will be set in a combined mix of the Batman ’89 universe where we saw Michael Keaton’s Batman fight crime together with the DCEU universe with J.K. Simmons reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon from both the 2017 Justice League movie and Zack Snyder’s Justice League movie.

I also wanted to geek out a little bit with WB and DC Comics deciding to use the “Batgirl of Burnside” costume for this film. That version of Barbara’s costume needs more love and while I’m still a bigger fan of the original version, this “modern” version doesn’t hurt at all. In fact I think it could attract more viewers to both the film and the books.
