This week we check back on Extraordinary X-Men # 14 where we see just how badass Forge can be, even going as far as taping Apocalypse’s mouth while studying the first mutant in X-Haven.

Extraordinary X-Men # 14 is brought to us by Jeff Lemire and Victor Ibanez.

Also…. SPOILER ALERT

So, back to the issue’s main pull, that moment between Forge and Apocalypse. Ever since the series started, we see Forge as this grumpy tech guy helping out the field team in various ways. So while he’s not the team player that we’re used to seeing in the 90’s X-Factor books, he still helps out the team when it comes to tech. So we get to see a rare sight in # 14, with Forge actually making an effort to shut Apocalypse up.

Its sad that he had to bring up Forge’s failed relationship with Ororo. After him, she had Black Panther and was queen of Wakanda. Then after AvX and before Secret War, she hooks up with Wolverine until he died. Now it looks like Old Man Logan will be picking up from where Logan left.

This needs a double take.

Other Moments from Extraordinary X-Men # 14

Last issue, the X-Men defeated Apocalypse and his new Horsemen which included their teammate Colossus. When they ‘port back to the present, Colossus escapes the X-Men and they leave it to Nightcrawler and Iceman to bring him back. Needless to say there was a fight and it did not end well for the duo.

So now they call on their Plan B.

That’s right, Glob Hermann, Ernst and Anole are now ready to kick Horseman Colossus’s ass.

Meanwhile in a completely different dimension Storm and Magik finally reach their lost student Sapna. That’s after they escape a group of magically-powered beings who blame Magik for the destruction of “The Lateral”. Unfortunately for Ororo and Ilyana, Sapna’s possessed and she wants Magik’s Soulsword.

Sometimes the book is a miss but I personally loved this issue. The art isn’t so bad as well. I might need to check on Ibanez’s other works.
