SDCC 2023: Marvel Announces return of Greg Capullo, shares Wolverine variant cover

One of the hottest artists in comics today, Greg Capullo, has been announced as a new Marvel and doing a bunch of covers for some of Marvel’s most popular characters namely Wolverine and Deadpool.

After decades away from the house of ideas, Capullo returns to Marvel and his first few works are variant covers for an upcoming issue of Wolverine as well as a new Deadpool project titled Deadpool: Seven Slaughters #1. The variant cover he’ll be working on would be Wolverine # 37 which will be written by Benjamin Percy and artist Juan Jose Ryp. Check it out below:

And then there’s the other cover that Greg Capullo has worked on that Marvel shared during SDCC 2023 from Deadpool: Seven Slaughters #1

Deadpool: Seven Slaughters # 1 will feature writers and artists Rob Liefeld, Gail Simone, Cullen Bunn, Cody Ziglar, Greg Land, and is set for release November 2023.

Capullo’s last stint with Marvel was back in the 1990s specifically in 1992 to 1993 for X-Force before shifting to Image Comics to work on Spawn together with Todd McFarlane from 1993 to 2000. His next big break was in 2010s when he joined writer Scott Snyder to work on the New 52 Batman where he stayed there for a few more years. One of his recent works was on the much-hyped Batman/Spawn crossover book which sold fairly well despite mixed reviews.
