Marvel’s Civil War # 1-7 Spoiler and Explainer
CIVIL WAR # 4
Heroes from both sides are shocked that Thor has joined the fight but has also sided with Tony Stark. Take note that Thor disappeared during Avengers Disassembled / Ragnarok and has not been seen since.
The anti-registration group also gets their asses handed to them by the somewhat amnesiac Thor.
Meanwhile Tony and Steve are still going at it, with Stark’s armor badly damaged and Captain America suffering from broken bones and dozens of wounds.
Tony tries to calm the situation down by using sonics, obviously the anti-SHRA group don’t have blockers so they get knocked down quickly.
That is until Hercules gets back up and beats Iron Man senseless.
Falcon also continues the bromance by saving Steve Rogers from a falling wall. Good on you bro.
With Iron Man incapacitated, the Secret Avengers get up and prepare to attack evil Thor. Leading the attack is Bill Foster aka Goliath.
Thor insta-kills Goliath much to the shock of everybody in that battle. Thor prepares to attack the rest of the anti-SHRA crew but is saved by Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman who betrays her husband and the rest of the Fantastic Three.
Back in the Pro-Registration base, its revealed that evil Thor is actually a cloned god made from a strand of Thor’s hair that Stark kept for years. Reed and Pym try to figure out what went wrong and why Thor (which we will now call Ragnarok) killed a hero. Peter Parker also begins to question his team and whether Steve Rogers was right after all.
#TeamCap finds themselves questioning their motives and their leader as well. Several members leave Cap’s team while a mysterious figure watches them go. Also Bill Foster gets proper burial but none of the big brains can seem to figure out how to shrink him down to human size. So the next best thing is to get a lot of land to bury the fallen hero.
During the burial, Miriam Sharpe once again surfaces and talks to Stark. She hands Stark her son’s favorite toy, a figure of Iron Man, to remind Tony of what he’s fighting for in this “Civil War”of his.
The Fantastic Four also disbands temporarily in this story with Johnny taking his sister elsewhere. She leaves Franklin and Valeria in the care of their father, Reed Richards. The Thing looks sadly as his teammates leave the Baxter Building and while Reed reads Sue’s letter for him.
The issue ends with Stark talking to SHIELD to bolster their ranks for the next encounter with #TeamCap. Hill advises Stark to bring out the new Thunderbolts to help hunt down unregistered heroes.
