Marvel’s Civil War # 1-7 Spoiler and Explainer
CIVIL WAR # 7
It’s all-out war inside Project 42 where Cap and Iron Man’s force duke it out. Captain America does his “Avengers Assemble” yell too.
Black Panther and Dagger (of Cloak and Dagger) takeover the prison’s control room and override’s access.
Spider-Man tried to get a rematch against Tony Stark but gets interrupted by Venom and Lady Deathstrike.
Maria Hill orders personnel to cut the connection from Negative Zone. Black Panther asks Cloak to teleport as much people as he possibly can.
Cloak does so and the combatants are sent back to the NYC, in front of the Baxter Building actually.
Cap finds himself outnumbered by the Thunderbolts but that last panel tells us that things are looking up…
… because Namor has joined the fight and brought along Atlanteans to aid him.
The Pro-SHRA squad answers that by sending in all their new members plus Ragnarok…
Captain America and Iron Man meet up again in the field, but Steve evens the odds by having Vision compromise Stark’s armor.
Hercules has some unfinished business with Ragnarok and they square off. In the heat of the battle, the Fantastic Four are reunited. Ben returns from Paris and Reed takes a bullet for Sue.
Hercules manages to kill cyborg Thor and proclaims that “Thou art no Thor” before smiting it with it’s own hammer.
Back with Tony and Steve, the fighting becomes so ugly with Steve gaining the upperhand. The beaten Tony Stark asks Rogers to finish the fight once and for. In a brilliant “Martha” moment, Steve relents.
He readies to ‘finish’ Stark off when non-powered first responders and civilians stop him.
At this point, it was pretty much ggwp for Team Cap as he surveys the damage their fight has caused in NYC.
and just like that, he surrenders. He surrenders though as Steve Rogers and not as Captain America.
In the following days, things change drastically… Tony Stark starts a new Avengers team dubbed “Mighty Avengers”…
Canada creates Omega Flight and the New Avengers regroup with Spider-Man changing into his black costume once more for the duration.
As for Tony Stark? He gets to become the new director of SHIELD.
There you go, hope you liked this post. I skipped a lot of things here so be sure to get the actual, physical book. It’s a fun read and the art of Steve McNiven is just fabulous (most of the time anyway).
