James Gunn teases Peacemaker Season 2 as production begins

Director James Gunn has unofficially announced the start of production for the HBO series Peacemaker season 2 which brings back it’s star John Cena as the titular anti-hero.

Here’s what he posted on social media:

We can see Gunn taking a photo off the reflection from the Peacemaker helmet which we assume is worn by the series star and former WWE champion John Cena.

Details are scarce about the plot but if you caught the first season there are a number of unresolved plot points that can be the central theme for this new season including the wrath of Amanda Waller (played by Viola Davis), whatever the hell Judomaster is up to or it could be an entirely new plot.

It’s also interesting if they would push the relationship of Peacemaker and Jennifer Holland’s Emilia Harcourt after the events of the season 1 finale.

I’m also wondering if we would see the new Superman, David Corenswet in this series considering that both projects share the same director.
