Mystique and Destiny are getting married in X-Men: The Wedding Special coming May 2024

Marvel’s most powerful queer couple is officially tying the knot with X-Men: The Wedding Special.

So yes Mystique and Destiny are officially getting hitched and it would be shown in The Wedding Special

Raven Darkholme and Irene Adler have already been married in the past but its only now that tie the knot in the modern era, particularly the X-Men’s controversial “Krakoa” era.

The two lovers have been at it for a long time and in fact, Mystique has been the staple when it comes to LGBT with her mutant power to shift her appearance regardless of race or gender.

The two have even sired the X-Man known as Nightcrawler.

But more than that in the Krakoa era, you can see just how much Mystique loved Irene. So much that she’s willing to be Charles Xavier and Magneto’s little black ops operatives in their silent war against ORCHIS. She struck a deal with the two under the condition that they would prioritize resurrecting Destiny through the Resurrection Protocols. And when Xavier and Magneto didn’t follow through with their deal Mystique went on a scorched earth attack on the two men which led to the events of Inferno where they ultimately are reunited and turn away the secret benefactor for Krakoa, the mutant Moira McTaggert who specifically forbade precogs in the island.

After that whole sham was exposed to the Quiet Council and Magneto left in disgust, Destiny took a seat in the Council which we could see in the pages of Kieron Gillen‘s Immortal X-Men run. During the Fall of X storyline particularly the opening salvo which was Hellfire Gala, Destiny was with the exiled mutants sent to the White Hot Room through Xavier’s coercion while Raven barely escaped the island of Krakoa. Since then she has been working to take down ORCHIS while avoiding working directly with the X-Men.

The X-Men: The Wedding Special though may change Raven’s tone a bit.
