Immortal X-Men # 6 Spoilers – Selene’s “boss” and Eros’ offer

In this week’s Immortal X-Men # 6 by Kieron Gillen and Lucas Werneck, we get some bit of connection with the ongoing AXE Judgement Day crossover between the Avengers, the X-Men and the Eternals while focusing our attention on Hellfire Club former boss and Quiet Council member Sebastian Shaw.

This issue connects that bit with Sinister and the mutant attack on the Progenator Celestial as seen in the pages of AXE Judgment Day # 3 by Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti. The same issue where Sersi and Jack of Knives break out Eros from prison and where Emma Frost drags in the deviants to join the X-Men in their fight against the Eternals.

In this issue of Immortal X-Men we find out what’s going on with the mutant Sebastian Shaw. We get to see how the Quiet Council plans to move forward with their ongoing war with the Eternals and how they need to deal with their losses as well as the slowly growing issue of their not-so-secret to Immortality.

Gillen also gives us a look at Shaw’s past as a child and how his father’s coldness was part of the reason the Hellfire Club was established.

We also get to see Shaw flex his mutant powers as he helps out Exodus in his trial with the Progenitor Celestial where we see him punching a demon.

Later in the issue, Shaw also sets a meeting with the returning Starfox aka Eros.

And after that, he spends his last few hours before Judgment making a deal with Selene’s new boss, and the same being who gave her enough juice to turn a skeletal gate into an unstoppable creature set to destroy Krakoa; this was after she was rejected for the council in favor of Hope Summers.

Let’s see how this literal “deal with the devil” will work out for Shaw and if he’s doing this deal for himself or for other mutants as well.
