Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown getting Tekken costume DLCs
In a surprisng twist, we will be getting a different kind of collaboration between Bandai Namco’s Tekken series and Sega’s Virtua Fighter franchise in the for of Tekken costume DLCs for several characters in Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown!
The announcement of the collaboration between these two brands happened via an announcement trailer in both English and Japanese featuring mainstays Akira and Lau. Akira was dressed up as Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima while Lau was decked out as Kazuya’s father and one of Tekken’s main baddies, Heihachi Mishima! We don’t have much details for now but we do know that they will be making more announcements and teasers in the coming days pertaining to this DLC. I’m thinking that this would probably be an entire DLC pack, which is a common trend in fighting games. I recall Mortal Kombat doing the same but with the added bonus of new characters bundled into the package.
