Talks are happening for Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop for Disney+ Hawkeye Series
Variety reports today that Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop for the Disney+ Hawkeye series is being worked on at the moment.
There’s currently just buzz of conversations between Steinfeld’s representatives and Disney execs for the actress to appear in the Disney Plus/ Disney+ series Hawkeye which will also star Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton as the original Hawkeye from the MCU. If the casting pushes through, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop would be a big thing.
In the comics, Kate Bishop took over the role of Hawkeye around the time that Barton was assumed dead.
This was also around the time that the team called Young Avengers emerged…
When Clint came back to life before the start of House of M, we also find out that the two have become partners, with Clint acting as a big brother and mentor for Kate.
And there was even a moment where Kate was mysteriously sent to the past where she ends up teaming up with a younger Clint who hasn’t met her yet.
I highly recommend you pick up the Hawkeye books by Matt Fraction and David Aja. Or even the recent West Coast Avengers ongoing with a bunch of characters joining Kate’s WCA including Quintin Quire, Gwenpool and a bunch of other characters.
This will be the second TV series that Steinfeld would appear in, the first was “Dickinson”. For the big screen, she won an award for “True Grit”, she also appeared in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, Bumblebee and recently Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse where she voiced the character Spider-Gwen.
