New Era® PH launches biggest collaboration on its 3rd anniversary

New Era® Philippines unveiled its biggest collaboration in the Philippines with the launch of a line of caps bearing designs of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) member institutions during its third anniversary celebration on July 28 at the Mega Fashion Hall.

The New Era® – UAAP collection comes in the signature 9Forty silhouette; with each cap donning the university sports logos and primary color. The collection is the union of rich heritage and tradition aimed to innovate a whole new age of lifestyle. The much-anticipated and long-overdue partnership aims to provide an elevated appreciation to premium lifestyle fangear. It is the combination of the finest headwear brand since 1920; and the biggest collegiate sports event in the country. The first collection signifies New Era’s goal to become the staple headwear partner of the UAAP.

This collaboration with New Era® Philippines promotes camaraderie and unity among the eight universities in the association. This is also the first time the UAAP has partnered with a huge global brand as their official headwear partner; and with this collaboration, we celebrate the unbreakable bond that exists between man and school spirit. New Era has always been known for being the standard and pioneer in the headwear business around the world; with more than 500 licenses under their belt, they’ve captured almost any market imaginable. From their humble beginnings in 1920; to the sports licenses which began with the Major League Baseball; and to being an established fashion icon by the 90s; the possibilities of New Era’s progression and innovation are infinite. In line with the growth of the company globally, New Era® Philippines launched their apparel line in a fashion show. The line highlights both trend-setting pieces and core products, which all complement existing and upcoming cap collections.

The World Wide Collection is a tribute to 90s fashion-with woven tapes on the sleeves, classic color blockings, retro cutting, and wrinkled woven fabric. The collection includes paired tops and bottoms to complete the retro track suit look. New Era, however sticks to its roots with an array of MLB-inspired tees and hoodies, namely the Super Big Fan and MLB Finger Tees Collections. The Super Big Fan Collection focuses on some of the most iconic team monikers in baseball. New Era also debuted their own rendition of techwear with the NE Tech Collection that showcases superior fabric technology with a tri-layer of fleece fabric providing warmth and comfort through natural motion. And finally, New Era commemorates renowned martial arts master Bruce Lee in a one-of-a-kind collection featuring tees, hoodies, and a variety of headwear silhouettes patterned after him and his philosophy.

The apparel line showcases New Era’s path to step out of their comfort zone as they further expand their identity from being a headwear brand into a lifestyle brand. The fashion show also included the New Era® Philippines anniversary shirt that they are giving out for free. Customers can get the limited-edition tee that has a brass 59Fifty logo with every single receipt purchase of any regular priced items worth P5,000.00 in New Era® physical and online stores.

New Era Philippines also previewed upcoming collaborations with iconic figures in the local market, like streetwear pioneers Progress and streetwear retail brand, Sole Slam. They have also partnered up with Secret Fresh Gallery as the “Artist Series” which sets to highlight local artists using the New Era cap as a canvas for their artworks. The “Artist Series” will have most notable collaboration yet, and maybe be the biggest one as well with National Artist, Ben Cab. It is a three-set collection which comes in limited quantity, which is set to launch in October 2018.

New Era® Philippines’ third anniversary event called “Infinithree” was jam-packed with performances, games, and activities for the public. Guests were treated to a series of performances from local artists Keana Valenciano and Curtismith, and a groovy dance number from UPEEPZ. A cap trick lesson and competition were also held on stage while graffiti artists showed off their street art creativity at the venue. Lucky participants were also given special prizes and GCs during the raffle draws.
