Dark Nights: Metal # 2 – You Don’t Play Tag with Batman
Scott Snyder’s current opus Dark Nights: Metal # 2 opens to an awesome Batman moment featuring the caped crusader evading the DC Universe’s heroes including his teammates from the Justice League.
In the opening moments of the book, Superman flies off to space in the hopes of locating Batman ever since it was revealed that he would be responsible for heralding an evil from another universe, a dark universe.
Next page we check up on different heroes who have responded to the call to find Batman, who has left decoys with his heartbeat and other bioscans all over the world.
And you simply cannot play tag with Batman especially since he’s a dirty player in these types of games. Case in point here in Dark Nights: Metal # 2, the Justice League trying to apprehend a group of Batmen in the jungle.
Also Damian Wayne is cocky as ever! Love it!
That’s one of the coolest moments from this issue, an army of Batmen running away from the Justice League in the Amazon rainforest.
There’s also that moment when one of the fake Batmen underestimates Aquaman much to his hubris…
.. that encounters also loaded with fish jokes.
The Flash initially getting sassy via a Flash fact THEN getting a Batman fact is also one for the books…
… definitely showed how far Batman and his family prepared for this encounter.
It’s also revealed that the last standing Batman escaping the Justice League is actually Nightwing.
Turns out the bag they all had with them contained a flower that the locals consider as deadly.
These flowers also summon up Swamp Thing. Which takes on the League.
The bottom line is Batman is a badass. He meticulously planned this and his team executed everything to the letter.
