Disney Confirms Emma Stone as Cruella Deville plus Sequels like Jungle Book 2 and Maleficent 2

Today Walt Disney Studios confirms that they have indeed locked down actress Emma Stone to play the role of Cruella de Vil for a villain-centric movie “Cruella” together with some interesting sequels.

Stone who appeared in films like Easy A, Zombieland and played Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man 2, will be playing the titular role of the puppy-napping woman. I’ve heard rumors as early as January that the movie will follow Maleficent in painting a different story for the fur-loving madwoman.

Cruella was last played to perfection by Glen Close in 1996’s ‘101 Dalmatian’ and ‘102 Dalmatians’

Also on the pipeline for Disney includes a sequel for Jungle Book aka Jungle Book 2 and Maleficent 2. No details yet for these two films but we definitely should expect Angelina Jolie to reprise her role as Maleficent. Neel Sethi plus John Goodman and Ben Kingsley could return for the second time.
