Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the sequel to the 2019 film Shazam! It’s directed by David F. Sandberg, starring Zachary Levi.

The film’s overall plot follows the consequences of Shazam breaking the staff in the original film, thus breaking the barrier between realms.

Now, the Daughters of Atlas now seek to avenge their father by uniting the staff and taking away the powers of the champions.

The film continues the lighthearted witty tone of the original, but this film now deals with themes such as adulthood and abandonment.

Despite the thin plot, David F. Sandberg continues to execute those heartwarming moments that made the original film a success.

Zachary Levi’s charms continue to shine, especially among acting veterans Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, who were the standouts in this sequel.

Overall, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is still worth a good time and I’m giving it an 8/10.
