Monster Hunter World: Iceborne x “Monster Hunter” Movie coming December with Milla Jovovich as a Quest NPC

Capcom is pulling out all the stops to promote the upcoming Monster Hunter live-action film starring Milla Jovovich. Today, they announced a special Monster Hunter World: Iceborne x “Monster Hunter” Movie crossover timed event in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne which will bring in Milla’s Artemis character from the film.

There’s really a lot to unpack but the tl;dr of this is that Jovovich would be lending her voice to all the extra cutscenes for this limited timed event exclusive to Capcom’s Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. And in fairness to them, they actually made it look like her from the film.

Check out the announcement trailer for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne x “Monster Hunter” Movie below:

The event will also feature a Black Diablos and a Greater Rathalos which are set to appear in the film.

In terms of rewards, when you complete the quest, yoou get a set of layered armour, new titles, Guild card backgrounds and a new pose. Oh and you also get “special gear” that you can obtain when you reached Master Rank in the game.

Here’s the official statement from Capcom:

In advance of the “Monster Hunter” film’s upcoming North American premiere on Dec. 25 , intrepid hunters of the Fifth Fleet can take part in limited time, film-inspired Event Quests in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne™ which arrive on Dec. 4. The highly-anticipated film by Paul W. S. Anderson stars Milla Jovovich, and brings to life the best-selling video game Monster Hunter: World, which has shipped over 16 million units worldwide. To celebrate the two “Monster Hunter” worlds colliding, players can watch two new trailers for a behind-the-scenes look at Milla Jovovich bringing her “Monster Hunter” character Artemis into Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, and a sneak peek at the upcoming collaboration content.

In the special two-part Event Quest, hunters can go head-to-head with the fearsome Black Diablos depicted in the film during the initial solo quest, before attempting to overcome the massive Greater Rathalos in the second portion. Hunters must prepare to fight tooth and claw, as these quests will only be available for players who have achieved Master Rank. For those valiant enough to succeed, items like special gear, layered armor, new titles, a new background and Guild Card poses will become available. Additionally, starting Nov. 27 all Iceborne players will be able to claim one limited time item pack filled with useful items as a log-in bonus to celebrate the upcoming film.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is available for the PC and Playstation 4!
