Former WWE Superstar Rusev confirms he has COVID-19
It’s a sad Rusev day today as former WWE Superstar Rusev has officially announced that he has COVID-19.
In his recent Twitch stream, Rusev (real name Miroslav Barnyashev) has revealed that he has COVID-19 days after his wife Lana that her mother and father contracted the disease. Lana (real name CJ Perry) recently stated that while her parents are in the ICU, they are also “doing great” and on the road to recovery.
Rusev’s positive test has been confirmed by his agent to Robert DeFelice of Fightful, who reported how the wrestler revealed his condition on Twitch.
Rusev is one of the top stars that were released on the so-called “Black Wednesday” (April 15) when WWE released a handfull of staff members and wrestlers at the on-set of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pro-wrestler is currently speculated to join Impact Wrestling when a Bulgarian flag was flashed in a promo video Slammiversary.
The last time a really big name wrestler or spouse went public with the information of being COVID-19 positive was some time ago when Renee Young revealed on Twitter that she had the disease. Things also snowballed as her husband Dean Ambrose aka Jon Moxley went on quarantine and missed a number of AEW shows.
So far we here are hoping for Rusev and Lana’s parents’ speedy recovery. What do you think about the news that Rusev confirms he has COVID-19
