Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom Returns – Justice League # 1

And before we completely forget, the Legion of Doom returns in the pages of Justice League # 1 by Scott Snyder and Jim Chueng.

If like me, you grew up on the classic Super Friends then you’ll know how important the Legion of Doom is to the whole mythos.

So in the book, its been revealed that theres something coming to Earth that will change everything. Thats also the reason Vandal Savage made his move together with his subterreanean neanderthals.

The thing is, this new team didnt stay long as Lex Luthor makes his appearance in Savage’s secret base and does a hostile takeover.

Luthor takes out Vandal Savage and his minions with Savage staying alive to witness his crew perish…

Now all alone with Luthor, the Superman villain decides to call in some reinforcements.

The characters that made an appearance in Justice League # 1 as the new Legion of Doom includes The Joker, Black Manta, Cheetah, Sinestro and Gorilla Grodd.

We also get to see another look at the Legiin’s secret base.

Lex Luthor also bashes Vandal Savage’s brains in.

This act of murder also disconnects Martian Manhunter from the rest of his team.

This looks like a big deal in terms of battle and expansion of story. Snyder looks that he has huge plans for both the Justice League and Legion of Doom. Its also quite nice that they have their own respective bases based on the Super Friends TV series, or maybe its just an easter egg.
