100 Tula Para Kay Stella Director Goes Gaga over Film’s Criticism

Trending on Facebook and Twitter today are screenshots of 100 Tula Para Kay Stella director Jason Paul Laxamana’s reactions over criticisms on his film.

The movie is an entry in this year’s Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino or PPP aka MMFF-in-August.

I got no beef with the movie. It was a well-thought movie, touching as well. But the criticisms and comments made sense too.

I don’t know what’s going on in Laxamana’s mind at the time he replied to these tweets about 100 Tula Para Kay Stella but from a director’s standpoint I do understand where he’s coming from. This is his baby after all. How would you feel if people tore through something you love?

Still, criticisms are important especially in movies. It might not be undone but there’s definitely something you can pick up from those. Movie criticisms, especially from the fans have more gravitas than what we movie bloggers and film reviewers release too.

What are your thoughts on this? Was Direk acting out of line or was it normal?
