5 X-Villains Who Could Have Benefited from a Cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse
I’m very, very angry that Bryan Singer decided to put William Stryker in an X-Men movie again. So I decided to make a list of X-Men villains who could have benefited from a cameo in X-Men Apocalypse.
You can begin looking at potential villains after the jump.
- Cameron Hodge
Cameron Hodge was a liaison for X-Factor back when Cyclops and the rest of the original five X-Men were “hunting” mutants. He later becomes this creepy looking man which bonds with the Phalanx when the techno-organic creatures invade Earth. His last claim to fame was being responsible for the loss of Karma’s leg back in “Second Coming”.
2. Mr. Sinister
Why do I want Sinister in X-Men: Apocalypse? Because wherever Apocalypse is, you can be sure that Nathan Essex is not far behind. These two work like peanut butter and jelly. Well, technically, we did get a quick Essex fix via that post-credit scene inside the Weapon X facility. But that’s not enough. Again, this guy could benefit from a tease for next X-Men related projects like Deadpool, Gambit and even New Mutants.
3. Mojo
Let’s get one thing straight, I hate Mojo. Some people like Mojo but not me. But that doesn’t give it enough reason not to take over precious screentime from Bryan Singer’s crush, William Stryker. Mojo loves to kidnap the X-Men and take them to Mojoverse where he puts them through various dangerous situations. Kinda lame but that really depends on the writers. Plus it touches on the X-Men’s penchant for travelling to other dimensions. We also get a cool looking baddie with Spyral…
4. Morlocks
Again this list isn’t going to be particular on main villains, just side villains or developing villains for other projects. Just not that goddamn Stryker who we’ve seen A LOt of times. Morlocks aren’t really villains, but they have clashed with the X-Men a number of times. Most memorable was when Storm challenged the leader of the Morlocks, Callisto for the position as leader. That was cool beans and I’d love to see Alexandra Shipp do that. But as for ‘Apocalypse’ they could have made a cameo in the sewers or just pop out of the sewers to steal supplies.
5. Juggernaut
A teaser for Cain Marko discovering the Cytorrak Gem in a tropical forest won’t kill the movie in my honest opinion. That and some crimson flashes of light and a hulking man-mountain in between moments with Apocalypse and Xavier could be a big thing.
People might seem apprehensive about using the unstoppable Juggy here but give him a tragic backstory, several upgrades as the X-Men fight him and you have a solid villain. Or have him turn up just after the explosion of the X-Mansion and claiming that he was late for the party is conversation starter we all need.
