Fear The Horsemen with New X-Men: Apocalypse Horsemen Posters

The hype machine for Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE continues to roll on with new posters featuring each of Apocalypse’s Horsemen namely Magneto, Psylocke, Storm and Archangel.

First on our list is Magneto played by Michael Fassbender. I’m not really familiar with Horseman imagery from the bible or other theological lit but I’d like to guess that he is the Horseman of War. Mostly because his ideals pits him not just against former friend Charles Xavier but also because he’s at war with his self and at war with humanity.

It’s quite fitting that Storm is the Horseman of Famine. She’s been through a lot and pretty much grew up hungry so from that alone we can get the idea that she’s Famine. She’s also from Africa where famine is a common thing.  Take note however that Storm was never a Horseman in the comics.

Another X-Lady that wasn’t a Horseman in the comics but became a horseman in the film is Psylocke. Olivia Munn’s psychic ninja is the Horseman Famine Pestilence. I’m not so sure how she fits the bill, maybe its a little less obvious.

Last horseman DEFINITELY traces his Horseman roots to the comics. Archangel follows his comic book counterpart Warren Worthington III as he joins Apocalypse’ group while in a dark place. He wants everybody dead which is why he gets the Death role.

As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
