The Manila Masters FanboySEO Preview

After staging the Manila Masters last year, our country will once again host the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Headlining the roster of teams will be the most dominant team for the past couple of years, OG as well as former International winners, Evil Geniuses and Newbee. Completing the field will be the Puppey-led Team Secret, Team NP of Canada, China’s Invictus Gaming, Team Faceless and our representatives; Clutch Gamers.

The whole event will transpire starting today with four opening best of 3 match-ups consisting of OG-Team NP, Newbee-Team Secret, Invictus Gaming-Clutch Gamers and Evil Geniuses-Team Faceless. Afterwards, the Mall of Asia Arena will play host to 3 days of action that will culminate with a best of 5 Grand Finals on Sunday.

Prediction:

First and foremost, OG—in my opinion–will be the favorite to win it all considering the fact that these guys have won back to back majors including last year’s Manila Majors and the more recently concluded Kiev Majors. EG, Newbee, NP and IG are also set for strong showings on paper—or atleast contend to win everything and it would be interesting as well to see how Secret will perform after their recent shake-ups. I wouldn’t doubt it if Faceless collects a few scalps but arguably the most intriguing participants will be our country’s representatives; Clutch Gaming.

With all that said, I’ll stick by my guns and say OG would probably win the whole event but my heart wants to see EG bag the Manila Masters and get the momentum they need before the International 7.
