Columbia Pictures PH has released the first Resident Evil teaser from the director of “Weapons” and “Barbarian” set to provide a new meaning for horror and survival horror based on the popular video game franchise from Capcom!
The film stars Austin Abrams as a brand-new character named Bryan, described as a medical courier whose “fate puts him through a terrifying night of chaos”. Check out the Resident Evil teaser trailer below: https://youtu.be/9EO8MxJvPDM
While they are already telling us that this is going to be an original story set in the world of Resident Evil, I feel like they will be able to connect the events of this film into any of the different RE games that have been published. For all we know this could see Chris Redfield or even Leon Kennedy somewhere here maybe at the end as part of a post-credit scene.
Resident Evil is directed by Zach Cregger, who also co-wrote the script with Shay Hatten. Aside from Austin Abrams, the film also stars Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser
