Santa Monica Studios is continuing the God of War franchise with the announcement of a new game titled God of War: Laufey starring Daredevil: Born Again’s Deborah Ann Woll.

So if you’re unfamiliar with who Laufey was in the game’s lore, she was the giantess/ warrior who later became Kratos’ wife and the mother of Atreus. At the start of God of War, we “meet” Laufey as she was supposedly buried by Kratos and Atreus before they get sidetracked by various stuff in the game. We did get to see Kratos and Atreus burn Faye’s corpse by the end of the modern game. Then in God of War: Ragnarok, we get a flashback where we see Faye in action where she’s played by Karen Page herself, Deborah Ann Woll.
In this new adventure set after the events of God of War, we see Faye kicking ass and taking names and we find out that her death was only the beginning of her adventure as she wakes up in a world called “Everywhen” and is thrust into combat with different types of creatures. This is also a fresh and wild addition to the lore with some new gameplay mechanics and a slightly different combat orientation.
This also marks another interesting landmark as we’re getting fully fleshed out gods outside of Norse Mythology with the appearance of Sekhmet and Begtse.
