Aquaman 2 officially titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
A new social media post has revealed the official title for Aquaman 2 and that’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom coming from Warner Bros Pictures and DC Comics/ DC Entertainment!
It looks like they have begun production meeting already with original Aquaman movie director James Wan returning to helm the film. And it looks like we’re going deeper into the mythos that they established in the 2019 film with Arthur going off to look for the lost seventh kingdom of Atlantis.
Allow me to explain quickly.
In the movie, they had referenced the various kingdoms that make up Atlantis and we got to see six of the seven. This was what Ocean Master was trying to conquer throughout the film or the places that Aquaman and Mera visited as they searched for the powerful trident. These kingdoms were:
- Atlantis
- Xebel
- The Trench
- The Kingdom of the Deserters
- The Brine
- The Fishermen
- The Lost Kingdom
Most of the original movie’s cast will return too led by Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master/ Orm, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry and more.
According to Wikipedia, the film grossed $335.1 million in the United States and Canada and $812.6 million in other territories, for a total worldwide gross of $1.148 billion. It became the highest-grossing installment in the DCEU and the highest-grossing film based on any DC character as well as Warner Bros.’ second-highest-grossing film worldwide behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 ($1.342 billion). Deadline Hollywood calculated the net profit of the film to be $260.5 million when factoring together all expenses and revenues, making it the fifth-most-profitable release of 2018.
