Marvel Starts Teasing Miles Morales: Spider-Man Clone Saga arc
No Spider-person will get away with NOT having a clone or a Clone Saga apparently as Marvel has teased a new arc for Miles Morales in his ongoing book Miles Morales: Spider-Man.
Check out the teaser below which is just a big announcement image together with the start date for the arc which is April 2021…
This is making a lot of comic book fans anxious and iffy especially since this was pretty much what made Spider-Man books unreadable in the 90s. Even I have to admit that the whole is-Peter-a-clone-or-is-Ben-a-Clone thing really didn’t do well for me. Plus it played with readers feelings, one moment Ben Reilly’s the real Spider-Man and the next its Peter Parker.
This story spanned for years and introduced a lot of elements and new characters like Ben Reilly, Scarlet Spider, Kaine and machinations of the Jackal and even Norman Osborn aka Green Goblin. It also ended with the “death” of Reilly and reinstating Peter Parker as the one true Spider-Man.
They even rethreaded the Clone Saga a few years back with Clone Conspiracy storyline which was OK so far.
And then this thing’s announced.
Can’t they just bask in Miles Morales’ glory for a little bit longer. The character is enjoying tremendous popularity with his appearance in Into the Spider-Verse and starring in his own game for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 5; can’t they give him a little break.
Anyway, Marvel’s sure to announce something soon, probably release preview pages and more details so here’s to hoping its good. And that reminds me to start catching up on the solo adventures of Miles Morales.
Oh and before I forget, here’s an explainer video on the whole mess that was the Spider-Man Clone Saga…
