Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner spotted on Superman set
Firefly star Nathan Fillion has been spotted on the set of James Gunn’s Superman wearing his Guy Gardner costume.
Fillion was cast tigether with other DC heroes for this new cinematic universe being built by new DCU heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
More photos after the cut.
Fillion was seen sporting Green Lantern Guy Gardner’s bowl cut as well as a variation of his comic book costume. It also looks like they are shooting a scene where David Corenswet’s Superman is meeting what looks to be the JSA or Justice Society of America with members like the previously seen Mr Terrific as well as Isabela Moner’s Hawkgirl and Green Lantern Gardner.
Initially I thought it was horrible the way they ditched the classic Black and Green costume and opted for the something with the color white in it but many fans speculated that the reason this JSA is adorned in white is probably because they were still sponsored by Maxwell Lord here. There are a bunch of photos that shows the “Lordtech” logo upon closer inspection.
Hopefully this version of Maxwell Lord won’t be a pushover just like Pedro Pascal‘s version of the character from Wonder Woman 1984.
Gardner wasn’t a favorite of mine but he did a lot of incredible stuff back in Geoff Johns’ run on Green Lantern pre-New 52 as well as in the Green Lantern Corps books by Tomasi. Even during the Blackest Night story arc, he was pretty cool.
So what are your thoughts on this costume as well as the overall look of Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner?
