Pedro Pascal is Maxwell Lord according to Patty Jenkins

Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins recently welcomed The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal to the cast where he is set to play Maxwell Lord.

Wonder Woman and Maxwell Lord? Uh oh.

The character had always been duplicitous swaying from good guy to bad guy. He also showed a lot with the Justice League International together with fan favorites like Booster Gold and Blue Beetle.

He also got a number of roles through the years including a stint as the director of the organization known as Checkmate.

Before the New 52, Lord had done a number of terrible things including shooting Blue Beetle Ted Kord in the head.

He then took control of Superman’s mind and had the Man of Steel go on a rampage, which ultimately led a face off against Wonder Woman.

Diana was forced to do the unthinkable and snap Maxwell Lord’s neck to snap Superman from his rampage.

That would have been greay if footage was not leaked to the public, thereby tarnishing the role of heroes to the world. (not to mention Batman’s involvement with Brother Eye)

At the end of Blackest Night, the white light brought back Lord for a specific reason.

In the New 52 and the DC Rebirth era, Lord led an attack on the Justice League and the Suicide Squad with a number of failed Task Force X members. And even later, Lord was used by Amanda Waller to hijack Brainiac’s brain during the No Justice event.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film opens on June 5, 2020.
