Sunrise announces Tiger & Bunny 2 just announced!

It looks like Tiger and Bunny 2 aka Tiger & Bunny season 2 is actually happening and its closer than everybody thought!

Sunrise, the show’s creator studio, has announced that the second season will be officially called Tiger and Bunny 2 and is set for release 2022. Interestingly enough, it will be set after the events of the duo’s last movie, Tiger & Bunny the Movie – The Rising back in 2014.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory’s Mitsuko Kase will direct the season while Masafumi Nishida returns for the music and Masakazu Katsura will be doing character design again. In terms of voice cast. Wild Tiger will be voiced again by Hiroaki Hirata while Barnaby Brooks Jr will once again be voiced by Masakazu Morita.

No word yet on which characters will be returning or even a look at the series’ new villain but this should be really exciting. Although to be honest, the hype and excitement for the series has fizzled out through the years. There never was a strong follow-up and I really did assume that the second movie from 2014 would usher in a new season but I was disappointed.

And you have to remember that there’s still the Hollywood adaptation floating in limbo for some time now which involves director Ron Howard and Brian Grazer for Imagine Entertainment.
