Mercedes Mone formerly known as Sasha Banks officially joins AEW and did so in incredible fashion!
The former champ came out and did a nice promo for her hometown crowd who also chanted “Welcome Home”. Watch her in-ring promo below where she also thanked the crowd.

Banks had a long and storied past during her pro-wrestling career. Snoop Dogg’s cousin did good in WWE’s developmental promotion, NXT where she was a champion and part of the mythical “Four Horsewomen” with iconic superstars like Bayley, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. She had ups and downs with WWE until she walked out on the promo together with Naomi and not appearing in a wrestling ring for a number of months until she made a surprise run in New Japan Pro Wrestling where she nabbed the women’s title before dropping it some time later. She has made sporadic appearance with her new name “Mercedes Mone” which is a play on her real name Mercedes Varnado and her theme of being a CEO / rich type character. She also recently made an appearance in The Anime Awards 2024 where she appeared together with Megan Thee Stallion.
She has also appeared in the Star Wars universe where she appeared in a number of episodes of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian where she plays Mandalorian Koska Reeves…
