Hellfire Gala 2023 Recap – Iceman vs Nimrod
Hellfire Gala 2023 recap time! It’s time to look at the Iceman vs Nimrod fight that happened in the pages of X-Men: Hellfire Gala 2023 # 1 by Gerry Duggan and more!
This happened shortly after the first attack which killed the 3rd iteration of the X-Men seconds after they got voted by the mutants of Krakoa.
This is actually one of the panels that make you think how powerful Iceman aka Bobby Drake really is being able to go one on one against Nimrod and making him retreat one step at a time.
Unfortunately the futuristic robot was sent not just to fight but to win and that means it will do anything and everything for that to happen including injecting poor Bobby with a nasty virus that will melt him nearly instantly.
Overall this fight was all sorts of cool and tragic. Why does it still feel like Iceman needs to prove himself to everybody that he is an Omega Level mutant? Wasn’t it proof enough that he worked with the other Omega mutants to terraform Mars and change it into Arakko back in Planet Sized X-Men # 1 aka the first Hellfire Gala?
