Jollibee Group Extends Food Aid to Affected Families in Albay

ALBAY, Philippines. June 23, 2023 – On June 19 and 20, the Jollibee Group partnered with the Office of Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda in Bicol to provide 31,000 meals to communities affected by the Mayon Volcano’s ongoing unrest. Individuals and families taking temporary shelter in different evacuation sites received Chickenjoy and Yumburgers that were prepared by the store teams of Jollibee branches in Legazpi Rizal, Daraga, Tabaco, SM Legazpi, Ligao, Legazpi Imperial, Polangui, LCC Legazpi, and Ayala Mall.

According to local authorities, over 20,000 people have already left their homes and have been temporarily staying in 28 evacuation centers in the province. 

The Jollibee Group also donated congee packs good for 12,500 servings. This specially developed spice mix packs prepared with rice and water provide evacuees with warm meals.

“Our partners in government play an important role in our mobilization efforts. With their help, we can provide immediate and extensive response during times of emergencies and disasters,” said Jollibee Group Chief Public Affairs and Sustainability Officer Pepot Miñana. “And it is through these partnerships that we not only provide immediate access to food, but we also bring hope and joy to affected families.”
