Mober partners with global location technology what3words to provide faster and more reliable deliveries

The integration of what3words technology eliminates the need for Mober customers to explain street directions or landmarks to delivery drivers.

Manila, Philippines, 13 March 2023 – Mober, the pioneer in electric vehicle delivery in the Philippines, has announced its partnership with the location technology company, what3words. United on a mission to improve customer service, the partnership enables customers to provide their exact delivery spot simply through three assigned words that represent a real-world location.

This ensures that deliveries arrive at their precise location faster and more efficiently. Drivers will no longer have to ask customers for additional directions, optimizing the delivery process and providing a smoother customer experience.

An increasingly on-demand economy means that consumer expectations are rising, and businesses are under pressure to meet these demands while still protecting their margins. A common barrier prohibiting seamless deliveries in the Philippines is the challenge of communicating the precise delivery location. Complex street addresses often misguide delivery drivers, especially in rural areas like Bulacan, Cavite, and Cebu City where Mober is available.

what3words solves this problem. It has divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and given each square a unique three-word identifier: a what3words address. For example, the what3words address for the entrance to Mober HQ in Makati City is ///tags.strength.risks. The customer can input this three-word combination at the Mober app checkout and enjoy the convenience of a seamless delivery.

Anyone can find the what3words address for the front door of their home and share and navigate to that location easily and reliably.

Dennis Ng, CEO of Mober, said, “We’re always looking for ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience, and our new partnership with what3words is a prime example of that commitment. It avoids causing delayed delivery as customers do not need to explain street directions or landmarks to the drivers. This deal also provides our partner retailers with increased confidence that their goods will be delivered on time and without any hassle.”

“In addition to our sustainability efforts with our EV deliveries, what3words’ accurate mapping will also help us further save energy from missed or wrong addresses,” Ng added.

“Deliveries are often impacted by poor addressing. Whether it’s an inaccurate street address, duplicate road name, or a condominium with multiple entrances,” Chris Sheldrick, Co-Founder and CEO of what3words adds. “With what3words, Mober’s delivery capabilities will reach new heights of precision, as customers can specify their location to any 3m x 3m square.”
