Chainsaw Man Chapter 3 – Denji meets Aki Hayakawa

Here’s the time Denji meets Aki Hayakawa as he is entered into service as a Public Safety Devil Hunter. Chainsaw Man chapter 3 spoilers.

In Chainsaw Man chapter 3, Makima brings Denji to the Public Safety Devil Hunter office where she pairs him up with another devil hunter, Aki Hayakawa.

Poor Denji really thought that he was going to work closely with Makima but obviously that wasn’t the case.

Out in the field, Hayakawa proceeds to beat up the rookie and tells him not to report the next day, saying that he’s doing him a favor.

He tells them that Devil Hunters who don’t take their jobs seriously ends up dead also citing that it’s obvious that Denji joined to be close to Makima or become her boyfriend down the line. Denji doesn’t take that well and he kicks Hayakawa in the nuts.

The two continue beating each other up with Denji even correcting Hayakawa and saying that he became a Devil Hunter on a whim. They return to the office with Denji claiming that his partner was attacked by the “Testicle Devil”. Makima then decides to add Denji to their squad.

As they return to their patrol Denji asks if Makima is a good or bad person to which Hayakawa says she is. He also says that she saved her life and Denji remembers how she held him up after transforming into Chainsaw Man for the first time. Denji then exclaims that he wants to hug Makima one more time much to the surprise of Aki Hayakawa.

Chainsaw Man was created by Tatsuki Fujimoto and Its first part was serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020; its second part began serialization in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online magazine in July 2022. Its chapters have been collected in 12 tankōbon volumes as of October 2022.
