First Look at the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Power Ring
Here’s our first look at the McFarlane Toys DC Multiverse Power Ring which is another part of their Starro the Conqueror build-a-figure!
It looks like they would be rounding up or finishing the Starro the Conqueror BAF wave with Power Ring who also joins other CSA characters like Owlman and Superwoman. More photos after the cut.
More details from the McFarlane Toys website:
The third human to ever wield a Green Lantern ring, John Stewart’s leadership and tactical brilliance is legendary throughout every sector of the galaxy. Earth has produced many fine members of the Green Lantern Corps, but among its finest stands U.S. Marine Corps veteran John Stewart. Although he was originally chosen by the Guardians of the Universe as the “alternate” Lantern, called in to wear the power ring whenever Hal Jordan was incapacitated, Stewart has grown to become a leader of the Green Lantern Corps. A former architect, Stewart creates his power ring constructs differently than his fellow Lanterns, as they are never hollow. He always builds them from the inside out, down to the last nut and bolt—the result of his keen architectural mind. Stewart also differs from some of Earth’s other Green Lanterns in that he has chosen not to conceal his identity behind a mask. John Stewart has suffered numerous tragedies in his life. But he’s always overcome them and emerged even more dedicated to the ideals for which the Green Lantern Corps stands.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the character, this is actually the evil Green Lantern from Earth 3 where instead of the Justice League we have the Crime Syndicate as the dominant superteam. The ring is empowered by the negative emotions of the wearer whoever it may be. One aspect about this character is that no matter who wears the ring, the character is still referred to as just Power Ring.
In the DC Rebirth/ New 52 era of DC Comics, Power Ring took Jessica Cruz as a host body feeding on her fear of the outside world. Batman and the Justice League were later forced to take her in and ultimately kicks out the Power Ring persona out, leading Cruz to becoming a full-fledged Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814.
