Looks like we got a new Prime Eternal in the pages of Marvel’s AXE Judgment Day # 4 by Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti.

Before we proceed SPOILER ALERT

So this war between the Avengers, X-Men and Eternals was already brewing before the current Prime Eternal aka the boss of the Eternals on Earth, Druig, decided that the mutants need to be exterminated because they too are part of the Deviants. So he’s sent a ton of Eternal soldiers and the mechanical creatures known as the Hex to attack the mutant island of Krakoa to sort of kill the mutants.

On the side, he’s also released the dangerous Eternal known as Uranos to decimate the planet Arakko formerly known as Mars which the X-Men terraformed all the way back to Planet-Size X-Men # 1 a year or so ago. Thanos’ grandfather kills most of the population except for a handful namely Storm, Magneto and Nightcrawler.

Issue 3 saw the mutants and Eternals coming together to try to use this secret “killswitch” to stop the Celestial known as the Progenitor but that failed spectacularly.

AXE Judgment Day # 4 starts wrapping things up with the three teams joining forces again this time to deal with Druig once and for all and that involves replacing Druig as the Prime Eternal to make the attacking forces stop. This is started with Sebastian Shaw cajoling Eros about his plan to get humanity onboard which he does in front of the UN. Shaw and Eros struck a good relationship in a tie-in issue and now Shaw is remind Eros that all his promises to the humans is moot since he’s not really in charge of the Eternals; he’s not the Prime Eternal.

In the battlefield, a number of Eternals like Ikaris, Ajak, Gilgamesh and Sersi hijack a number of things just as Druig attacks Krakoa using the Uni-Mind.

Initially Sersi and the good Eternals join the Uni-Mind and challenge Druig when that fails, they call for an election for a new Prime Eternal and they nominate Eros to become the new Eternal.

They also bring Jean Grey and the rest of the X-Men inside the Uni-Mind.

When Druig realizes that he’s going to lose, he sets Uranos free once more to finish the plan.

Fortunately for the good guys, the voting ends and Eros takes over. I did like how when Druig gets kicked out of the Uni-Mind, Exodus just beats the crap out of him.

His first order of business is stopping his grandfather from stepping out of his cell but that’s for another spoiler post.

So yeah, the new Prime Eternal is Eros and that should be an interesting. Might make me read whatevers happening in the ongoing Eternals book just to see what Eros will do and the ramifications of all his “talking” through A.X.E. Judgment Day.

Also let me remind you that Starox aka Eros is played by Harry Styles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
