D23 Expo: First Look at the MCU Thunderbolts including Winter Soldier, Taskmaster, Red Guardian and Black Widow

Marvel has released the concept art for the upcoming MCU Thunderbolts movie titled “The Thunderbolts” thereby confirming the cast for the upcoming film.

As previously reported, the movie will still feature a bunch of heroes and villains all working for an agency which may or may not be SHIELD in the MCU.

The official cast announced for D23 Expo 2022 via a concept art includes:

  • Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier
  • Florence Pugh as Black Widow Yelena Belova
  • David Harbor as Red Guardian
  • Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster
  • Hanna John Kamen as Ghost
  • Wyatt Russell as US Agent / John Walker
  • Julia Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine

The film will be directed by Jake Schreier who also directed the film Paper Towns and a bunch of Benny Blanco projects.

Here’s a look at the Thunderbolts cast on-stage when the Thunderbolts segment was happening with Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige.

In case you’re unaware of who the Thunderbolts are, in a nutshell its a team that’s following an organization in the Marvel universe that goes on missions using supervillains forced to take on missions. The original version of the team was more nefarious with the villain Baron Zemo going on a rebranding for the Avengers villains group known as the Masters of Evil and posing as heroes after Onslaught seemingly “murdered” the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. Check out my breakdown of the Thunderbolts through the years if you want to know more about this team.

Update:

Here’s a better image of the Thunderbolts concept art.
