The actor did not confirm or deny that he will be playing the role of Namor, the ruler of Atlantis. Namor in the comics is also an ally of Captain America and fought Nazis as a member of the Invaders. Namor has also become a member of both the X-Men and the Avengers and was also responsible for the flooding of Wakanda in the pages of AVX or Avengers vs X-Men.
Created by Bill Everett, Namor McKenzie, or the Sub-Mariner, first appeared in Marvel Comics #1 in 1939 as the King of Atlantis and a mutant. He is known for being one of the first anti-heroes in comic books and has repeatedly fought alongside or against the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Defenders, the X-Men and the Illuminati in the pages of Marvel Comics.
According to rumors, Namor is slated to be the main antagonist for the Black Panther sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The rumors also suggest that Namor’s Atlantis and Black Panther’s Wakanda will be going to war over a new technology that has been created by Riri Williams played by Dominique Thorne who will also be the hero known as Ironheart.
