How did Clea become the new Sorcerer Supreme?
Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of the Madness has whet your apetite for anything Stephen Strange, lets talk about the current holder of the title Sorcerer Supreme; and its not Wong but rather Strange’s wife, Clea Strange. Spoilers from Death of Doctor Strange # 5 by Jed McKay and Lee Garbett!
In the final issue of this miniseries, we see Doctor Strange finding himself alive once more after being murdered by Kaecilius and Baron Mordo with the help of backup Doctor Strange. They team up with the other Sorcerer Supremes from the multiverse including Clea and Magik as they teleport away the Child and the Mothers, the unstoppable mystical entities that had been targeting other mystical beings in Earth 616.
With the heroes victorious, Clea and Doctor Strange are reunited briefly…
But because this spell to bring back Stephen Strange was a temporary one, the current version has to disappear…
And with Stephen finally dying after their kiss, Clea is left with the Eye of Agamotto and Cloak of Levitation.
And Marvel puts the title of Sorcerer Supreme to Clea, the niece of Dormammu and the dark dimension’s Sorcerer Supreme.
