Fila x Sonic the Hedgehog 2 collaboration announced aka the Ray Tracer Evo x Sonic 2

Here’s a look at the new Fila x Sonic the Hedgehog 2 collaboration aka the Ray Tracer Evo x Sonic 2 sneakers which may or may not make you faster but will definitely give you a +100 for geek and gamer rep.

Apparently Fila will be picking up the slack for sneakers after Puma who did a collab with SEGA when the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie came out. And I have to admit these look a hell of a lot cooler than the previous collab. Don’t get me wrong, that one was nice also but this one just captures everything about Sonic and his footwear of choice.

You also have to love the integration of the trademark Fila “F” for these sneakers with it being seen in the heel tabs as well as the sneaker’s tongue pull…

Plus of course it follows Sonics’ traditional red-and-white colorway sneakers from the game and now from the movie.

According to reports this will be available around April 8 and can be purchased via the official Fila website. However, a quick visit to the website reveals that its been pulled out; hopefully its a momentary thing and now one of those pulled-out-because-they-ran-out-of-stock things.

Now if only they also came out with Knuckles the Echidna’s sneakers, I’ll truly be a happy fanboy.
