Zack Snyder’s Justice League’s “A Father Twice Over” lines from Silas Stone reads as Snyder’s letter to his daughter
Or more specifically words left unsaid to his daughter before her untimely death which also prompted director Zack Snyder to move away from the Justice League movie. Check out the dialogue that Joe Morton’s Silas Stone records for his son Victor aka Cyborg which is also a chapter title for the uber-long SnyderCut dubbed “A Father Twice Over”.
Here are the lines that was narrated towards the end of the four hour long epic from Snyder and Warner Bros Pictures.
A Father Twice Over
Now, let me speak to you from my heart, not as a scientist, as a father. [chuckles] Your father twice over. I brought you into the world and back to it. You can’t imagine how proud I am of who you are. Have always been. So many years with you I wasted. So many wrongs I’ve left un-righted. Everything breaks, Victor. Everything changes. The world is hurt. Broken. Unexchangeable. But the world’s not fixed in the past, only the future. The not yet. The now. The now is you. Now. Now’s your time, Victor, to rise. Do this. Be this. The man I never was. The hero you are. Take your place among the brave ones. The ones that were, that are, that are yet to be. It’s time you stand, fight, discover, heal, love, win. The time is now. Keep going.
For Autumn.
I have to admit, I teared up a bit when I saw this via the ZSJL screener first screener, then while writing my Zack Snyder’s Justice League review. Twice over. Put yourself in the shoes of this director and only being able to write this posthumously is just painful. This was really one of the better reasons I’m happy Snyder managed to release the Snyder Cut, being able to put this onscreen and have a meaningful impact for the audience.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is now streaming on HBO Max and HBO Go and stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher.
