Damian Wayne returns to Talia al Ghul in Batman # 106
Damian Wayne the former Robin and the son of Batman and Talia Al Ghul return in Batman #106 by James Tynion IV and Gleb Melnikov.
We also welcome back the regular DC Comics books now that Future Shock is over and we go forward with Infinite Frontier.
There’s a lot of different things with Damian Wayne aka Robin. For starters his whole costume is different and some color changes have been done to the staples. He’s got a more dragon-y design here with even the ears looking different.
He’s also returning to his mother Talia al Gul in Markovia where he’s chastised for his failure and being alone. Not running to the members of the Bat-Family nor to his peers and team in the Teen Titans…
Before they are really able to get settled down, a new group of assassins appeared and reveal themselves to be a group called the “League of Lazarus”.
Mother and son fight their attackers but one of the members of the League manage to get a hold of Talia. He takes Talia Al Ghul as a hostage and Talia tells Damian to kill the attacker which is something that the son of Bruce Wayne doesn’t do anymore.
So I’m betting the hostage taker gets killed by Talia herself and was part of a test done to see how developed Damian is since he joined his father and returned to life. Or maybe there’s another character joining Damian and his mother in the next chapter of this story. Either way, this is interesting and the art is good. Even the action scenes were nice.
