Gwendoline Christie joining The Sandman Netflix series
DiscussingFilm has posted news that Game of Thrones and Star Wars actress Gwendoline Christie has been added to the cast of the upcoming The Sandman series.
Christie has played Briene of Tarth in Game of Thrones on HBO as well as Captain Phasma in the new Star Wars trilogy. She also lent her voice previously other Star Wars projects like Star Wars Resistance and Battlefront 2. She most recently starred in Searchlight’s The Personal History of David Copperfield last year. No word yet on who she would be playing but there are other “Endless” characters but I think she could be a good fit for Delirium.
The Sandman movie is going to be released on Netflix and will star Tom Sturridge as Morpheus aka Dream. Grey’s Anatomy and The O.C. writer Allan Heinberg will be the showrunner and writer for the series. If Heinberg’s name is also familiar, he’s also the creator of Marvel’s Young Avengers.
Neil Gaiman and David S. Goyer will also be playing executive producing the series and also co-writing with Heinberg. Some notable directors who will be working on episodes for the series will include Jamie Childs and Mike Barker.
