Nintendo’s Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is officially a Breath of the Wild Prequel
If you’re clamoring for more Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Switch then you’ll be pleased to hear that Nintendo has already announced a prequel game called Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, still for the Switch.
You can watch the trailer/ announcement video below
This game is set before Breath of the Wild and will focus on the aforementioned “Great Calamity”. Hyrule Warriors would be similar to another fan-favorite Dynasty Warriors which spawned a LOT of games. The game, which is being developed by Koei Tecmo, looks to be a successor of sorts to the original Hyrule Warriors from 2014. That game combined the massive battles of Dynasty Warriors with the lore and history of Zelda.
Age of Calamity will launch on November 20th. As for the long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild, Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma says, “You’ll have to wait a bit longer.”
And you know what, before the announcemend for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, I didn’t know I needed a warriors style BotW game. But now I think I do.
