Super Skrull has new powers in Empyre # 1

Looks like things are getting changed and tweaked a bit in Marvel’s Empyre. For starters we get a retcon in the history of the Kree and the Skrulls and on a micro scale, we also get to see that Super Skrull has new powers in Empyre # 1.

That’s right, Super Skrull has new powers in Empyre # 1 and I think its a smart tweak in his powers and makes him a bad ass while still sticking to the core powers of having all of the Fantastic Four’s powers.

So in the opening pages of the book, we see the Fantastic Four investigating this huge armada en route to Earth. They check the command ship with Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman turning the ship invisible so they can listen in on the leaders of this fleet.

They are surprised to see that this invading armada is actually led by the former Young Avenger member Teddy Altman aka Hulkling. His entourage is composed of various Skrull and Kree big names one of which is Kl’rt The Super Skrull.

Its revealed that Super Skrull can now detect other people who are invisible; something we haven’t seen in the years since he first appeared in the Fantastic Four books. It’s very weird that he can do this too because it seems like Sue Richards can’t do that.

Hmmm.

But there’s another aspect of Kl’rt’s powers that we haven’t seen yet. Apparently he took notes fro One Piece’s Luffy D Monkey and is pushing the boundaries of his elastic powers; something Reed Richards has yet to do ever since they came back from their multiversal adventures.

Also worth mentioning Black Panther’s bad ass space armor and that team-up between She-Hulk and Swordsman plus she’s rocking her own Cotati-made hammer.
