To date this would be the third Iron Patriot. The first was Norman Osborn after the events of Secret Invasion. During the “Heroic Age”, James Rhodes aka War Machine took over the role of Iron Patriot as he once again worked with the US Government. Then the third Iron Patriot was part of Sunspot’s New Avengers team and was operated by the character Toni Ho.

Meanwhile Sharon Carter is an active supporting character for the current volume of Captain America where she did a number of operations with Steve. Things have become complicated though with the reemergence of Peggy Carter, Sharon’s aunt and Steve’s wartime love. This should be an interesting love triangle amidst the fight with the villain Selene.
