Sending Money for the New Normal with Paymaya

This “new normal” has pushed things in all directions including the way we send money to our loved ones. We are definitely at the point where we need to do things differently if we want to be safe and keep everybody we love safe from the threat of COVID-19. Thanks to services and cashless technology like PayMaya we are actually able to move forward with our lives too. We can even give a helping hand to friends and family who unfortunately weren’t so lucky due to this pandemic.

In this post, we look at some of the ways to send money using PayMaya during this “new normal” situation everybody is talking about. We’ll talk about how you can still be able to provide help even if you can’t be there physically there for your loved ones.

  1. PayMaya to PayMaya

One thing that has thrived amidst the pandemic is the growth in the number of users for cashless services and digital wallets. PayMaya has been in the forefront of this technology and early on, they have been able to let PayMaya users send money to other PayMaya users with a few taps of their screen. Here’s how it works *photo will show screenshots of sending money through Paymaya app*

  1. PayMaya to Bank Account via InstaPay

And in case your intended receiver (whether it’s a friend, or a relative) doesn’t have a PayMaya account yet, there’s still a quick fix to that. PayMaya users can opt to transfer money to a preferred bank via Instapay. In just a few clicks, you would be able to send anywhere from a hundred pesos to more than Php20,000 in selected banks.

On a side note this is also a great way to do business whether you are ordering new products from an online store. The same mechanics apply as you’ll only need the bank account details from the seller.

  1. PayMaya to Smart Padala

Still in situations where you friend or loved one doesn’t have a bank account or a PayMaya account with them, you can also send money through Smart Padala. Here’s how you can do it with your PayMaya app:

  1. Ask for the 16-digit account number of your Smart Padala agent  (ask your recipient to make sure the Smart Padala agent is open during this time)
  2. Tap “Send Money” on your PayMaya app
  3. Enter the 16-digit account number of your Smart Padala agent on the mobile/account number field
  4. Input the amount and click “Continue”
  5. Check the transaction details then click “Send”
  6. To claim the money sent to you, make sure the Smart Padala agent store is open and bring 1 valid ID, mobile phone and reference number as proof of transaction

You also have to remember that 1.5% of the transaction amount will be charged to the sender when transferring to a Smart Padala agent. Sending money to another PayMaya user and bank accounts via Instapay are still free for now. Just so you won’t be surprised that there’s suddenly a deduction on what you sent over.
