ESGS 2019 Day 2 Coverage (Powered by Vivo V17 Pro)
This weekend, I took the Vivo V17 Pro to document/ take photos for ESGS 2019 which was held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City and as expected, got great shots using the smartphone’s rear camera which features 8MP Sony IMX583 primary sensor, f/1.8 + 13MP telephoto with 2X optical zoom, f/2.5 + 8MP 120º wide-angle + 2.5cm (1″) macro, f/2.2 + 2MP depth sensor, f/2.4, 4K @ 30fps video recording.
Quick comments for the camera:
The camera system gets smarter than its predecessor. Point it to a subject, like a person, and the sensor recognizes what needs to be focused on. The UI is also so easy that you can switch from photo mode to ultrawide in a flash. This, of course, comes in handy when you are shooting great subjects in a fast-paced event like Esports and Gaming Summit.
Good to see that they upped the level of aesthetics for the main stage…
And of course, there’s a number of major brands that are trying to outdo each other in their little corner of the event.
Tier One is also front and center this year and they had a stage with their streamers doing meet and greets with their fans.
Also spotted Awie De Guzman, who has been tapped to be the “avatar” of the ESGS and she looks awesome in her original character.
Some of the booths that generated massive foot traffic IMHO were the Mountain Dew booth…
As well as Capcom’s Monster Hunter World playtest area…
Unfortunately for me, I wasn’t able to get those cute tote bags that they give out to people who try out the game…
Oh sorry, this wasn’t just MHW, this is actually for the new expansion game, Monster Hunter World Iceborne, which is also coming to PC soon. This was soooo cool but I just have to comment that they needed to control the lines better next time.
We also missed the Playstation booth which I really thought was going to be a staple for ESGS; And the Ubisoft booth is also greatly missed. Could have been great if we could try out the new Watch dogs game even for just a few minutes.
